Slavia – Pardubice 2:0. The home team managed to get the obligatory three points without any problems

The lineup of Slavia experienced two changes after Wednesday’s fight for the Champions League. Matěj Jurásek and Filip Prebsl replaced David Zim with Tomáš Holeš. And just like with Lille, the Slavists entered the match actively. However, just like against the French opponent, they wasted chances. In this regard, Tomáš Chorý was particularly outstanding, who failed to finish in a good position several times and as soon as he succeeded, goalkeeper Jan Stejskal intervened or the post was against. When it looked like the opponents would go to the locker room with a score tied, the ball reached El Hadji Malick Diouf in the goal area and he fired past the helpless Stejskal from eight meters.

The second half started where the first ended. But Chorý was unable to score even this time, when he himself aimed a meter above in front of Stejskal. It didn’t take too long, and even Chorý finally got around to it. In the 49th minute, Jan Bořil extended the ball to the edge of the small goal area, and the two-meter forward made no mistake this time. Slavia was leading 2:0 and there was no indication that they should be fundamentally worried about the result.

However, the complication for the team from Eden came in the 63rd minute. Prebsl made up for a huge mistake by the otherwise excellent Lukáš Provod, and since he was last at that moment, referee Pavlo Orl had no choice but to give him a red card for a foul on Štěpán Míšek. Those who expected at that moment that Pardubice would set out to erase the two-goal deficit had to be unpleasantly surprised. The Stitched Red didn’t fundamentally abandon the concept, and they continued to be clearly the better team. However, they did not use any of the chances, so the match ended with their well-deserved 2:0 win.

Player of the match – El Hadji Malick Diouf

The celebs are starting to have a diamond in his person. Diouf not only scored the first goal, but the entire match from the left side tirelessly ventilated the defense of Pardubice. He thus showed why he only received his first invitation to the adult Senegal national team at the age of 19.
