The Swiss noble technicians are still waiting for a victory in the slalom this season. At the penultimate race of the winter in Flachau, which serves as a replacement for the canceled race in Zagreb, Johannes Strolz set the outstanding best time in the first run. The Austrian distanced himself from the competition by just under a second and more. Halfway through the race, Daniel Yule is the best Swiss in fourth place.
The fight for the podium places is tight, because there are only eight tenths between places 2 and 16. Among them are Nef (13th) and Meillard (14th) on two Swiss. Zenhäusler, Rochat and Aerni will start the second race with a larger deficit. They form a Swiss trio in positions 17 to 19.
