Skyscraper approaching Earth Sunday

Earth is preparing for a close encounter with a huge asteroid larger than the Empire State Building, the famous skyscraper in New York City (consisting of 102 floors). NASA is observing the space rock and revealed that it will make a “close approach” from a space perspective. But the asteroid will still be more than 3.5 million miles away.

Astronomers believe that the width of the asteroid ranges between 220 and 490 meters. And as long as possible.

The space rock, officially known as 388945 (2008 TZ3), is expected to make its closest approach to Earth next Sunday.

Although the asteroid visits Earth routinely about every two years, the next time it will approach Earth will be the same as the distance it will achieve on Sunday in May 2163.
