For years, TV viewers have been annoyed by the ever-widening distribution of football rights. Those who want to see the Bundesliga, Cup and Champions League in full are now dependent on three subscriptions. This also includes Sky & DAZN.

The two heavyweights share the rights for the Bundesliga broadcast in Germany. In order to relieve subscribers, Sky & DAZN are once more offering a combined offer this year. When it comes to prices, however, one or the other swallows.

Sky & DAZN: problem for customers

Pay TV on Saturdays, streaming service on Fridays and Sundays – this has been the fixed transmission pattern in Germany’s top division for some time. Of course, if you want to see every game of your favorite team, you need both subscriptions.

However, the streaming service DAZN has been screwing up the price screw more and more in the past, causing anger. In combination with other subscriptions, numerous subscribers groan under the costs.

Combination price increases

For those who wanted to see the whole Bundesliga cheaply, Sky & DAZN launched a combination package last year. New customers might enjoy Bundesliga football on both platforms for EUR 38.99. Due to the success, the two companies want to work together once more this year.

However, there is bad news. Because the price for the combination package also increases. Instead of 38.99 euros, you now have to fork out 49.99 euros per month for a term of twelve months – as a new customer. After that, the price increases to 80.49 euros.

Sky & DAZN: Only small savings

A comparison to the individual subscriptions shows that the savings are manageable. While DAZN costs 29.99 euros per month for an annual subscription, you pay 25 euros for a year for Sky-Bundesliga (following that 35.50 euros). In the first year, customers save five euros per month with the combination price.

Money and prices remain an issue in the Bundesliga broadcast. It starts on August 18th when champions Bayern Munich meet Werder Bremen. The game will be broadcast on DAZN – and on FreeTV on Sat 1.
