When it comes to new sports rights, Sky and DAZN are always at the forefront of interested parties. The two companies have recently secured new competitions for their customers. The pay-TV broadcaster recently even announced a fantastic deal (more on that here) that had never been done before.

But there are also other sports competitions in which Sky and DAZN are probably not initially interested and might only get involved later in the award process. This may be the case with the new “Baller League” in the future, for example. A competitor grabbed the rights there.

When the new “Baller League” starts in a few weeks, football fans will not see this competition on Sky or DAZN. The league, which is said to be nothing less than “shaping a new era of football”, has signed a contract with Seven. One Entertainment.

“The Baller League is an enormously exciting project and we are looking forward to the journey together, not only because of the big sporting names like Lukas Podolski, Mats Hummels or Alisha Lehmann and Kevin-Prince Boateng. It will be new, fast and certainly wild at times,” promises Gernot Bauer, editor-in-chief of “ran”.

The games will be broadcast on “ran”, ProSieben Maxx and Joyn. All 66 games and the Final Four will be streamed on Joyn. On Mondays, ProSieben Maxx shows the top game between 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The league is “intensive, innovative and interactive. The combination of high-quality sport and the streaming world is perfect for Joyn,” says content boss Thomas Münzner.

Football fans can look forward to a total of six games in a row every Monday. The game is played six once morest six on a small indoor field. In addition to the team captains, who include athletes or well-known Twitch streamers, the teams also consist of semi-professionals, talented amateurs and other guest stars.
