According to information obtained by Insider Gaming, the next Skull and Bones beta tests will be reserved for PC players. Official game community participants on Discord reported the change, which caught console players off guard.
No clear explanation for this choice
A developer on the Skull and Bones Discord server claimed that these tests “were never intended for consoles”, despite the possibility given to players to register via PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
This information is corroborated by the removal of the registration options for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the Ubisoft official website. No official explanation has been provided for this change, but a developer on Discord has assured that the information will be “adjusted”. However, it might take a few days due to the team’s busy schedule due to the Ubi Forward event. As a reminder, the Skull and Bones closed beta period is scheduled from August 25 to August 28, 2023.
Since its announcement in 2018, Skull and Bones has experienced significant development issues, resulting in several delays. According to Insider Gaming’s sources, the latest beta phase hasn’t been met with enthusiasm from gamers. So it will be interesting to see any changes made to the game since then.
Insider Gaming collected testimonials from more than 20 people to confirm this information. However, except for one person, everyone else left the official Discord server, not being interested in the game.
