Skipping some steps when exercising is the reason for multiple injuries

Overcoming apathy and making the decision to change to a healthy lifestyle are the main challenges that women overcome when starting physical activity in the gym, however, the desire to obtain results quickly and the lack of perseverance leads to committing errors that can be harmful.

According to the personal trainer of the Gold’s Gym health and wellness chain, Luis Ribas, one of the most common actions that cause injuries in women is training without prior warm-up.

“Some do not take into consideration the previous warm-up and even walk to the gym with the excuse that they have already warmed up their muscles, but this is a protocol that should not be skipped to avoid injuries”explained Ribas who also highlights that another of the myths is the so-called fasting cardio, being precisely the first meal of the day the main source of energy for the body.

“Another mistake is that they work one limb more than another, they forget the upper body and focus on working the lower body, that is, legs and buttocks. They usually do it daily or three times a week, when the muscle groups must be given adequate rest for them to evolve, in fact, muscle mass evolves at rest and with food”Ribas advised.

According to the specialist who works at the Gold’s Gym headquarters in CC Montalbán in Caracas, to lose extra kilos and achieve a body in better physical condition, there are women who take “shortcuts”, they fill themselves with information obtained on social networks and They ignore the importance of the advice and accompaniment of a professional.

“There should be professional advice and give them the right training for beginners, make them understand the importance of the steps and protocols that cannot be skipped, if they really want lasting changes over time,” he recommended.

In this sense, Ribas highlights that a positive factor in women’s training is that age is not a limitation, since it must be adapted to the resistance, capacity and personal ability of each one.
