On Monday, The Kardashian star announced that her underwear brand, Skims, had been named the “official underwear partner” of the NBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and USA Basketball.

In a statement released by the NBA this week, the brand’s founder said: “I am incredibly proud of SKIMS’ partnership with the NBA as it reflects SKIMS’ growing influence on culture. Together, SKIMS and the NBA will connect people from all walks of life through fashion, sports and talent, and I look forward to watching this partnership flourish.”

This is not the brand’s first collaboration with a sports team. In 2021, Skims was responsible for the design of official underwear, pajamas and loungewear for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics.

Additionally, news of the partnership comes days following Skims’ first men’s underwear launch. The campaign featured NBA player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, among other athletes.

Regarding the collaboration, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver promised “unique experiences, new offerings and premium products.”

Kim Kardashian founded Skims as a shapewear brand in 2019, but it has since expanded into underwear and loungewear.
