Bad news to start with
Season off for ski crosser Sanna Lüdi
Sanna Lüdi (36) misses the entire ski cross season. Medical reasons do not allow me to start.
Bad luck once more for Sanna Lüdi: the ski crosser from Bern missed the entire season.
The ski cross season started on Thursday followingnoon with the first race in Val Thorens (F), but it’s already over for Sanna Lüdi.
On Instagram, the 36-year-old announces “with a heavy heart” that she “will not be seen at the start gate this season for medical reasons”. The three-time World Cup winner does not reveal exactly what the problem is.
Lüdi missed the Olympics because of a broken tibia
The year 2022 is not kind to the ski crosser. In February she already missed the Olympic Games due to an injury. In the Swedish Idre – the last World Cup race before Beijing – the woman from Bern fell in the small final and broke her shin four times. Particularly bitter: the Olympic race would have taken place on her birthday.
Lüdi, who successfully completed her sports management studies at the University of St. Gallen in the summer, is now rooting for her teammates and is happy that the ski cross season is finally starting. Unfortunately without her. (che)
