World Cup defending champion Eva Pinkelnig struck once more in the second competition following her injury break. The Vorarlberg native won the large hill competition in Oberstdorf on Monday with a 2.7 point lead over the Canadian Strate Abigail. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger also made it onto the podium, coming in third together with Norwegian Eirin Maria Kvandal. Pinkelnig finished the “Two Nights Tour” in second place behind Nika Prevc (SLO).

Seifriedsberger (129.5/126 m) had a narrow lead following the first round of the New Year’s competition, but had to let her teammate overtake her in the final. For Pinkelnig (132.5/129), who only started the winter in Garmisch last week due to knee problems, it was the tenth World Cup victory. It was the first podium place for the ÖSV jumpers this season.

Sara Marita Kramer (127.5/129) and Lisa Eder (122/122.5) completed the strong red-white-red team result in ninth and tenth respectively. For Chiara Kreuzer (117/116.5) it was only enough for 21st place, Julia Mühlbacher had narrowly missed the competition by finishing 41st in the qualification. Now the ÖSV women are waiting for the home competitions in Villach on the normal hill, which will take place on Wednesday (11.30 a.m.) and Thursday (12.30 p.m.).
