Skeleton found while cleaning well | Man found dead | Skeltal remains

Thiruvananthapuram: A human skeleton was found while cleaning a well under Chirayin. The skeleton was found in Salahuddin’s well at the Konnakuttam house near the Vakkom small mosque. It has not been inhabited for the past five years. Coconut saplings were planted two days ago in an acre of land. Meanwhile, the landlord had instructed Kuttappan, a native of Puthenada, to clean the well following noticing that the well was damaged.

During the cleaning, the entire skeleton came out of the well but was not identified by the workers. The skull was noticed while cleaning the well and covering it with a net. Later large parts of the skeleton were buried near the well. He then informed the Kadakkavur police.

A police team reached the spot and took action. A team led by forensic scientist Kaliamma reached the spot in the evening and inspected the well and its surroundings. In addition to the skeleton, a shirt and pants were found here. The identification document was also found in the pocket of the shirt. A police inquest led by Varkala DySP P. Nias prepared the body and shifted the remains to the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital mortuary at night.
