Our Lions played the almost perfect match for over an hour tonight. With a double lead in the pocket, nothing seemed to get in the way of a three-pointer. Yet the unlikely thing happened in the end… KVO managed to score no fewer than three more times and returned home with a victory. Final score: 2-3.

Our Lions were the first to threaten tonight. Ismaheel slipped beautifully through the visiting defense. After a carom, the ball ended up with Koyalipou, but the striker might not make a decision. In the restart, Servais tried from a wide distance, Bossin was not surprised.

SKB increasingly increased the pressure. A shot from Verstraete was blocked following a wonderful pre-assist from Goncalves. Less than a minute later, Bossin had to do everything he might to turn Hrncar’s header in front of the line.

Halfway through the first half, our Lions finally received a reward for their work. After strong perseverance, Servais was able to reach Daci in the box. The North Macedonian did not hesitate and placed the ball wonderfully in the far top corner: 1-0, his first goal for SKB!

At the end of the first half, KVO, which had not really been able to threaten until then, suddenly emerged. Berte found no one in front of goal following a nice rush, a shot from Dewaele bounced wide and Hartwig deviated over following a corner kick from Wylin. Halftime score: 1-0

Just like in the first half, our Lions started the second half with great enthusiasm. Verstraete hit the post following 7 minutes, Koyalipou missed in the restart.

Two minutes later the attacker did much better. On Daci’s instructions, the striker hit the ball hard once morest the ropes: 2-0! After more than an hour of football, coach De Decker brought three fresh players into the line. Limbombe, Wuytens and Geusens replaced Servais, Hrncar and Vitanov. Servais had made himself noticed shortly before in his last action with a hard bang on Bossin’s fists.

In the 67th minute it should have always been 3-0, but Koyalipou missed in front of an open goal. And as it often happens in football: if you don’t take your chances, the goal will be scored on the other side. And so it happened, because less than a minute later Fuentes made it 2-1.

Immediately following this goal, Koyalipou had the opportunity to score his second of the evening, but Bossin was once more in the way. To make matters worse, the signs suddenly hung in balance fifteen minutes before time. Once once more Fuentes was the scorer: 2-2.

KVO now took full control and ten minutes before the end, Berte headed the 2-3 past Reus. Yellow-blue was no longer able to pose a threat in the final phase, except for a header from Daci. Final score: 2-3.

On Saturday (09/03), yellow-blue will travel to Liège to take on RFC Seraing at 8 p.m. A mandatory bus combination scheme applies to this party.
