SK Group will showcase more than 40 carbon reduction technologies at CES 2023, the world’s largest consumer electronics expo, to be held in Las Vegas in January next year.
SK Group’s 8 affiliates and 10 US partners will participate in CES 2023, which will be held from January 5 to 8 next year, and jointly organize an exhibition hall under the theme of “Together in Action, moving toward a carbon-free future together.” Eight affiliates, including SK Holdings, SK Innovation, SK E&S, SK Hynix, SK Telecom, SK Eco Plant, SKC, and SK Biopharmaceuticals, will participate in the exhibition. In addition, US partners Terra Power, Plug Power, and Plastic Energy, which SK invests or has a cooperative relationship with, will also participate.
The SK exhibition hall is largely divided into two areas. In the first section, ‘Futuremarks’, media art technology conveys the dark future that humanity may face due to sea level rise if it does not take proper action once morest climate change. The second zone, titled ‘SK, Around Every Corner’, will show future cities realized with carbon reduction energy technologies and solutions that SK affiliates and partners have already commercialized or will soon commercialize. An SK Group official said, “We designed the exhibition hall so that members of the global village can clearly compare and experience the two futures that they will face when they actively engage in carbon reduction actions and when they do not.”
For the exhibition, SK Group exhibited regarding 40 eco-friendly technologies and products, including electric vehicle batteries, hydrogen, high-efficiency semiconductors, waste-to-energy, carbon capture, storage, and utilization (CCUS), small module reactors (SMR), and urban air transportation (UAM). to disclose SK presents a virtual living space in which carbon reduction products and technologies have become commonplace, divided into six zones: △Eco-friendly mobility △Carbon-free lifestyle △Recycling waste △Air mobility △Future energy. An SK Group official said, “We will be able to see at a glance the present and future of technologies related to net zero, which is the growth momentum, at CES next year.”
SK Group, which announced that it would reduce the global carbon reduction target by 1%, made ‘companion’ the theme of the exhibition hall at CES 2022 held earlier this year to join the carbon reduction journey.
