SK Eco Plant, Fair Trade Autonomous Compliance Program ‘AA Grade’

SK Ecoplant is drawing attention as it is accelerating its ESG management, such as being recognized as an excellent company in recognition of its contribution to strengthening internal law-abiding management.

SK Ecoplant announced on December 14 that it obtained an excellent grade of ‘AA’ in the 2022 Fair Trade Compliance Program (CP) grade evaluation supervised by the Fair Trade Commission.

CP was introduced by the Fair Trade Commission in 2001 as an internal compliance system established and operated by companies to comply with fair trade laws and regulations. The Fair Trade Commission evaluates ratings every year and provides differential incentives according to operational status and performance in order to induce substantial operation for companies that have introduced CP.

SK Ecoplant introduced CP in 2008 to practice compliance management, which is the core value of ESG management. . Last year, the organization was expanded and reorganized by transferring those in charge of fair trade, such as overseas CP, ethical management, and win-win cooperation, to the Compliance Office.

It establishes clear CP operation standards and procedures, strengthens the internal monitoring system, conducts pre- and post-examinations of law violations, and reports operational performance and future plans to the board of directors on a quarterly basis.

In addition, in order to establish a law-abiding culture within the company, all executives and employees, including the CEO, are given an oath of fair trade self-compliance every year, and are encouraged to actively participate in various CP activities. Education to raise awareness of compliance, such as global anti-corruption policies, risk prevention of law violations, and compliance with amended laws, is also continuously conducted.

Park Kyung-il, CEO of SK Ecoplant, said, “It is more meaningful that the fair trade self-compliance program introduced and systematically operated since 2008 has been directly recognized by the Fair Trade Commission. We will continue to make efforts so that it can be fully established as a culture.”
