The Korean group SJM inaugurated, Thursday in Tangier Automotive City (TAC), a new industrial unit specializing in the production of modules and interior components of flexible insulation for the automotive industry.

This new facility, which was inaugurated in the presence of officials from the Korean group and the Tanger Med group, is part of the group’s second phase of investment in the region.

Built on an area of ​​4,800 m2, this site should eventually employ 250 people and will contribute to increasing the local integration rate.

Speaking on this occasion, SJM Group Vice President Kim Whi Joong said Morocco is a strategic destination for the group due to its proximity to Europe and the Middle East. This new facility will help the group better serve its existing and new customers in these regions, he noted.

“We greatly appreciate the continued support of the Moroccan government and Tanger Med teams to accelerate investments in the region,” he said, adding, “we are committed to continuing our efforts to support the automotive sector in this region. , to allow it to reach its full potential. »
