The nuclear-powered icebreaker “50 Years of Victory” has transported 63 schoolchildren from 15 countries to the North Pole as part of a scientific and educational project, a Sputnik correspondent reports. Students from South Africa, Cameroon and Tunisia were invited. The project, called “Icebreaker of Knowledge”, one of the organizers of which is the Russian giant Gazprom, is designed to popularize natural sciences among young people. Lectures, scientific games and film screenings are held on board the icebreaker. Footage taken with the help of a drone shows the icebreaker making a technical stop and the members of the expedition unfurling the flags of their countries. After this stop, the ship set sail for Franz Josef Land, a Russian archipelago in the Barents Sea.
