Sixty migrants rescued in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais

The CROSS has hired several nautical resources to help people in difficulty. The coast guard cruiser Nordet of the French customs came to the aid of 34 castaways that he recovered on board and then deposited at the port of Dunkirk.

The French Navy’s public service patrol vessel Flamant was involved in several rescue operations. He picked up 26 castaways on board and dropped them off at the ports of Dunkirk and Calais.

All the castaways, once back at the dock, were taken care of by the border police (PAF) and the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS).
