WHAT IS Lailatul Qadr? Lailatul Qadr or Lailatulkadar is one of the specialties that God bestowed upon the people of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. It was a glorious night. The worship in it is more important than the worship performed for 1,000 months which has no eternal destiny.

One thousand months is equal to 83 years plus 4 months. The followers of the previous Prophet were able to worship in this world for a long time because Allah made them live long. Meanwhile, although the people of the Prophet Muhammad were only between 60 and 70 years old on average, Allah bestowed lailatulkadar upon them.

With Lailatulkadar, the followers of the Prophet Muhammad have the opportunity to get great rewards even though they don’t live long in this world. What are the advantages of Lailatulkadar? Following are the six priorities as reported by LDNU Kediri Regency, East Java.

Six priorities of Lailatulkadar

1. Lailatulkadar is the night when the Qur’an was revealed.

As we know, the process of revealing the Qur’an occurred in two stages. The first stage, the descent of the Qur’an from Lauh Mahfuz to a place in the first heaven (the sky of the world) called Bait Al-‘Iizzah.

In this first stage, the Qur’an was revealed completely from beginning to end. This happened on the night of Lailatulkadar, which coincided with the 24th night of Ramadan.

Prophet Muhammad sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “Shuhuf Ibrahim was revealed on the first night of Ramadan, the Torah was revealed on the sixth night of Ramadan, the Injil was revealed on the night of the 13th of Ramadan, the Psalms were revealed on the night of the 18th of Ramadan, and the Qur’an was revealed on the night of the 24th of Ramadan. ” This hadith was narrated by Ahmad, Ath-Tabarani, Al-Baihaqi, and others.

The second stage, the descent of the Qur’an from Bait Al-‘Izzah in the first sky to Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. In this second stage, the Qur’an was revealed gradually according to certain reasons and events over approximately 23 years.

The first five verses of Surah Al-‘Alaq were the first to be revealed to him in the cave of Hira through the angel Gabriel ‘alaihis salam. According to some scholars, that happened on the night of the 17th of Ramadan. It is on this basis that the night of the 17th of Ramadan is commemorated by Muslims as the night of the recitation of the Qur’an.

When does lailatulkadar occur?

Lailatulkadar occurs once a year in the month of Ramadan. It is possible that it happened on one night among the nights of Ramadan. Maybe on the first night, the ninth night, or other nights.

However, it is most likely to happen on one of the last 10 nights in the month of Ramadan. The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Look for Laylatul Kadar in the last 10 nights of the month of Ramadan. Hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari.

Imam Syafi’i is of the opinion as quoted by Sheikh Zakariyya Al-Ansari in Fath Al-Wahhab that lailatulkaadr most likely occurs on the 21st or 23rd night of Ramadan. Meanwhile, other scholars are of the opinion that it is most likely that lailatulkadar occurred on the night of 27 Ramadan.

Signs of lailatulkadar occurring

In the book Jawahir Al-A’immah fi Tafsir Juz’i ‘Amma, it is stated that one of the signs is seeing light that is not sunlight, moonlight, or electric light. We also see that the sun rises the next day differently from when it rises on other days, namely that it is white and does not emit much light. Another sign is seeing prostrate trees and so on.

Some people see the signs in a dream and some others see them in a state of vigilance. Seeing him in a state of guard is more perfect his blessing and glory. Whoever sees it in a state of vigilance, he has indeed seen Lailatul Kadar.

What to do when you see the lailatulkadar sign

What is done is to enliven the night with various acts of worship, such as more reading of istighfar, dhikr, sunnah prayers, more reading of the Qur’an, beri’tikaf in the mosque, and so on.
