Homemade weapons and armored vests: six members of criminal structure sentenced
Court sentences six people found guilty of various crimes in Mixco.

The Municipal Prosecutor’s Office of Mixco presented evidence so that the Second Criminal Sentencing Court might hand down a guilty verdict once morest six members of a criminal structure.
Those sentenced are Marlyn Maricruz González Jiménez, sentenced to 8 years and 2 months in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and concealing the crime in real competition; Brizna Berenice Aceituno Chile, sentenced to three years in prison for transporting ammunition.
Likewise, Cristopher Yovany Castro Pérez, two months in prison for concealing his own actions, and Brayan Oswaldo Aguilar López, five years in prison for illegal possession of ammunition.
Rigoberto Isaí Chávez Benítez, a Honduran national, was also sentenced to five years for illegal possession of ammunition and expulsion from the national territory.
Finally, Juan Carlos García Santos was sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime of illegal possession of a firearm.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, on June 10, 2019, in Zone 3 of Mixco, police officers located the now convicted individuals with objects of illicit origin.
Among the objects seized were two firearms, two motorcycles reported stolen, cell phones and homemade armored vests.

The above, following a chase of a minor carrying an assault rifle, who was subsequently transferred to a specialized court.
