IFM RAW has shared a thrilling video capturing SIX FEET UNDER‘s electrifying performance at The Abbey in orlando, florida, on January 10. The following day, chris Barnes, the iconic frontman of SIX FEET UNDER, took to Instagram to express his excitement.”About four shows into this US Tour, and man, this has been unbelievable!” he wrote. “the fans, our crew, the other bands—nothing but love. I’m so blessed to be back on the road and thankful to everyone who made it happen… our agents at TKO, Metal Blade Records, and everyone in between. Making new friends and reconnecting with people I haven’t seen in years has been amazing.”
Barnes didn’t hold back his enthusiasm for the Orlando show, calling it “one of the top five greatest performances of my life.” He added, “I’m still in awe of how killer last night was. Don’t miss this tour!!!!!!!!!!”
The band’s latest album, “Killing For Revenge”, dropped in May 2024 via Metal Blade Records. This marks their fourteenth studio release and the second collaboration between Barnes and guitarist Jack Owen since reuniting for 2020’s “Nightmares Of The Decomposed”. Owen also took on production duties for the new record.
Reflecting on their partnership, Barnes shared, “We worked well together in CANNIBAL CORPSE. I’ve always admired Jack as a friend and musician, so I’m agreeable giving him creative control. I have immense respect for him as an artist.”
SIX FEET UNDER began as a side project for Barnes during his final years with CANNIBAL CORPSE, the band he co-founded. By 1995, it became his primary focus, coinciding with the release of their debut album, “Haunted”. Today,Barnes is the sole original member,joined by Owen,guitarist Ray Suhy,bassist Jeff Hughell,and drummer Marco Pitruzzella.
Barnes couldn’t be prouder of the current lineup. “Jeff and Marco have been with me for about a decade,” he said. “I’m fortunate to have some of the best musicians in metal.Jeff is a phenomenal bassist,Marco is arguably the best drummer out there,Jack is the greatest songwriter I’ve worked with in over 30 years,and Ray is a versatile guitarist who can play anything from jazz to death metal. This lineup is untouchable.”
“Killing For Revenge” features a guest appearance by guitarist Jason Suecof on the track “Neanderthal”. The album was mixed and mastered by Chaz Najjar at Badlands Recording in Denver,Colorado,and is available on CD,digital platforms,and vinyl.

Chris Barnes: Thank you! It’s always an unbelievable feeling to step out on stage and see the energy from the crowd. Orlando was no exception—the fans were wild, and the atmosphere was just insane. It’s moments like those that remind me why I’ve been doing this for so long.
Archyde: The show was part of a massive U.S. tour with Nile, Psycroptic, and Embryonic Autopsy. How has it been sharing the stage with such iconic bands?
Chris Barnes: It’s been an absolute honor. Each of these bands brings something unique to the table, and the chemistry on this tour has been phenomenal. Nile’s technical prowess, Psycroptic’s intensity, and Embryonic Autopsy’s raw energy—it’s a killer lineup. We’ve been feeding off each other’s energy, and I think the fans can feel that.
Archyde: IFM RAW captured the orlando show in a thrilling video that’s now available on YouTube. What was it like seeing the footage of that night?
Chris Barnes: It’s always surreal to watch footage of our performances. IFM RAW did an amazing job capturing the intensity of the show. Watching it back, I could feel the adrenaline all over again. It’s a great way for fans who couldn’t be there to experience the night, and for those who were there, it’s a chance to relive it.
Archyde: Six Feet Under has been a dominant force in death metal for decades. How do you keep the music fresh and relevant while staying true to your roots?
Chris Barnes: It’s all about evolution without losing sight of who you are. We’ve always pushed ourselves to explore new sounds and ideas, but at the core, it’s still Six Feet Under.The themes of death, mortality, and the darker side of life have always been central to our music, and that’s something that will never change.
Archyde: Looking ahead, Six Feet Under has announced a 2025 tour with dates already selling out. What can fans expect from these upcoming shows?
Chris Barnes: We’re pulling out all the stops for this tour. Expect a mix of classic tracks, new material, and some surprises along the way.we’re also working on some killer stage production to make these shows unforgettable. It’s going to be a wild ride, and we can’t wait to see everyone out there.
