“Is it an accidental explosion or a criminal explosion ? We don’t know yet, but specialists from Monusco and the scientific police are working on it. There are clues that lead to believe that the explosion is not of accidental origin. Among the dead are Lieutenant-Colonel Nganya Viva Charles and Captain Kasinda Baruti, both from the logistics directorate of the 34th military region. There is also the colonel’s wife who was with him, as well as the owner of the bistro who was with her friend and a 12-year-old boy, the son of a soldier. They all died and there are 15 injured, including 2 seriously. The military governor of the province came very early in the morning to the scene of the tragedy. We reassure everyone that everything is under control. There is no need to panic »he says.
