The National Multihazard Drill, scheduled for this May 31 at 10:00 am, It is aimed at the population in general and the authorities of the three levels of government.
It will be carried out taking into account the evacuation to external safe areas and meeting points established by local and regional authorities, considering biosecurity measures by COVID-19.

It is important to mention that the drill is an exercise of practical actions that is carried out on a likely emergency or disaster situation in order to strengthen the preparedness and response capacities of the entities that make up the National Disaster Risk Management System (SINAGERD) and the population in an emergency situation.

Sismate Alert
Last Friday, May 6, it was tested for the first time in Peru the Early Warning Messaging System (Sismate) that caused an intense sound on cell phones of at least 22 million Peruvians. Now, the new rehearsal of this alert will be held this Friday, May 31 at 10:00 am
It should be noted that this project is not yet in operation, it is still in the testing stage. However, as part of this, this May 31, alert messages will be sent once more to the entire country.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) clarified that the Sismate It is a communication tool for the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) send messages to the population warning before, during and following the occurrence of an event or disaster.
How does Sismate work?
The general director of Communications Programs and Projects of the MTC, Carlos Aguirre, specified that the Sismate does not anticipate earthquakes. Only when Indeci and the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) finish implementing the Peruvian Seismic Alert System (SASPE), this can be integrated with Sismate to be able to issue an early warning of any telluric movement.
