Sisi directs a request to the government regarding industry in Egypt

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic pointed out that during the meeting, the axes and stages of implementing the National Industrial Strategy were presented, which aims to urgently advance Egyptian industry, maximize the optimal use of all available industrial capabilities in Egypt, and unleash the capabilities and energies of the Egyptian and foreign private sector, in order to achieve the strategic goal of transforming Egypt into an advanced regional and international industrial center, which increases the volume and value of commodity exports, and enhances the national economy as a whole, in a way that positively reflects on citizens’ living standards.

The meeting witnessed the clarification of the most important challenges and obstacles that have always negatively affected the Egyptian industry, and the ways to confront and solve them radically, where Mr. President stressed in this regard that the industry file is a top priority for the state, and that international and regional changes, as much as they represent major challenges, also provide opportunities to build a solid industrial base in Egypt, directing in this context to complete the intensive efforts made by the government and the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development, to enhance the process of localizing promising industries in Egypt, and transferring technology, with the participation of the private sector and strengthening its role, in a way that improves the competitiveness of the Egyptian industry in the local and foreign markets, pointing to the importance of paying great attention to training and raising the skills of Egyptian workers, in addition to updating the Egyptian industrial investment map, to attract more industrial investments to various sectors.

The Egyptian President also directed to study the problems and challenges facing the struggling factories, and to find unconventional solutions to provide aid and assistance to operate these factories, in order to preserve the investments pumped into them and protect workers’ rights.
