Siraj is better than Bumrah in some respects; Ashish Nehra out in the open

There is some debate as to who is the current best pace bowler in the Indian team. Even so, majority will support Jasprit Bumrah.

But former Indian pace bowler Ashish Nehra is of the opinion that Mohammad Siraj is not far behind Bumrah. Nehra says the variations on Bumrah belong to Siraj.

“When talking regarding bowlers, everyone talks regarding Jasprit Bumrah first. But in terms of ability I don’t think Siraj is behind Bumrah. I have heard that Siraj used to take 5-6 wickets in every match for India A team years ago. Today he is an excellent bowler in all formats, said Nehra.

Nehra said he has all the variations in his hands and is ahead of Siraj Bumrah in that regard.

‘All variations are at hand. I would say Siraj is better than Bumrah in that regard. He can bowl a variety of slow balls. He can swing new balls both ways. It’s all regarding maintaining athleticism and staying focused. If we can do both these things, Sirajina will be able to rise to the sky,” said Nehra.

The last IPL season was not so good for Siraj who shone with occasional good performances. The player took 4 wickets in the first innings of the last Test once morest England but conceded runs in the second innings.
