Siprula asked the University Council of the University of Los Andes to formally request the Ministry of University Education to deliver to this university the resources for the health area that the State of Health has, which correspond to the ULA, to be managed. by the University itself through Ofiseula and Camiula, thus allowing immediate response to be provided to university students from the different nuclei.
Official statement from the SIPRULA Guild to the university community
After the various efforts that we have been carrying out in the search for the common well-being of the entire University Community, the SIPRULA union wishes to express its gratitude for the response provided today, October 31, by the University Council.
Through this communication, which is framed in the request made to this honorable body, asking for its intermediation regarding the management of recurrent resources corresponding to health, with the aim that these are managed directly by the University of Los Andes through OFISEULA and CAMIULA.
In this way, it is appropriate to highlight that this request made to the Ministry of University Education, if there is a satisfactory response, could guarantee the immediate access of all university students and their family groups to the health system and would allow us to convert CAMIULA into the Clinic of the University students, in addition to providing immediate response where the University has the majority of its community concentrated such as Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo, as well as in the centers and other cities where our university workers and students are located.
This measure would allow us to establish strategies that guarantee optimal care in our CAMIULA medical care center, aimed at Professionals, Professors, Employees, Workers and Students, that is, at the entire university community. We appreciate the support and collaboration of all those involved in this process, reaffirming our commitment to the continuous improvement of the health and well-being conditions of university workers. We continue to work together with our sister unions to achieve significant progress in this important matter for our institution.
Sincerely,
SIPRULA Guild Board of Directors

**Interview with Yanara Vivas, SNTP 6961 / CNP 16770, Member of SIPRULA**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Yanara. Your recent efforts in advocating for better health resources at the University of Los Andes are noteworthy. Could you start by explaining the background of your request to the University Council?
**Yanara Vivas:** Thank you for having me. Our request to the University Council was driven by a need to secure health resources from the Ministry of University Education that directly pertain to the health sector at our university. We believe that these resources should be managed by the University itself, specifically through OFISEULA and CAMIULA. This would allow us to provide immediate health responses to our university community.
**Interviewer:** That sounds important. What kind of health services do you envision being provided through CAMIULA if your request is accepted?
**Yanara Vivas:** We aim to transform CAMIULA into a fully operational clinic dedicated to university students and their families. This would ensure that our community has direct access to healthcare services, especially in critical areas like Mérida, Táchira, and Trujillo. Moreover, it would allow us to implement strategies for optimal medical care for not just students but also professors, employees, and workers within the university.
**Interviewer:** You’ve mentioned the potential impact on service delivery. Can you elaborate on how this change could improve overall health outcomes for university community members?
**Yanara Vivas:** Absolutely. By managing these resources ourselves through CAMIULA, we could develop tailored healthcare strategies that meet the specific needs of our community. This would mean quicker and more personalized responses to health issues, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes and overall well-being for everyone involved.
**Interviewer:** What’s next for SIPRULA in this process? How can the university community support your efforts?
**Yanara Vivas:** We will continue to work closely with the University Council and the Ministry of University Education to ensure a positive response to our request. The support of the university community is crucial; we encourage everyone to express their needs and experiences regarding health services. This ensures that our advocacy reflects the collective voice of those we serve.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Yanara, for sharing this important information. It’s clear that your efforts could have a significant impact on the university community’s health and well-being.
**Yanara Vivas:** Thank you for having me. We appreciate the opportunity to communicate our goals and the importance of this initiative. Together, we can achieve better healthcare access for all university members.
