Siprula asked the University Council of the University of Los Andes to formally request the Ministry of University Education to deliver to this university the resources for the health area that the State of Health has, which correspond to the ULA, to be managed. by the University itself through Ofiseula and Camiula, thus allowing immediate response to be provided to university students from the different nuclei.
Official statement from the SIPRULA Guild to the university community
After the various efforts that we have been carrying out in the search for the common well-being of the entire University Community, the SIPRULA union wishes to express its gratitude for the response provided today, October 31, by the University Council.
Through this communication, which is framed in the request made to this honorable body, asking for its intermediation regarding the management of recurrent resources corresponding to health, with the aim that these are managed directly by the University of Los Andes through OFISEULA and CAMIULA.
In this way, it is appropriate to highlight that this request made to the Ministry of University Education, if there is a satisfactory response, could guarantee the immediate access of all university students and their family groups to the health system and would allow us to convert CAMIULA into the Clinic of the University students, in addition to providing immediate response where the University has the majority of its community concentrated such as Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo, as well as in the centers and other cities where our university workers and students are located.
This measure would allow us to establish strategies that guarantee optimal care in our CAMIULA medical care center, aimed at Professionals, Professors, Employees, Workers and Students, that is, at the entire university community. We appreciate the support and collaboration of all those involved in this process, reaffirming our commitment to the continuous improvement of the health and well-being conditions of university workers. We continue to work together with our sister unions to achieve significant progress in this important matter for our institution.
Sincerely,
SIPRULA Guild Board of Directors

**Interview with Yanara Vivas, SIPRULA Representative**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Yanara. Can you tell us about the recent request made by SIPRULA to the University Council regarding health resources for the University of Los Andes?
**Yanara Vivas:** Thank you for having me. SIPRULA has been actively advocating for the health well-being of our university community. We recently requested the University Council to reach out to the Ministry of University Education, asking that they allocate the health resources that the state has for our institution. Our aim is for the University to manage these resources directly through our health centers, OFISEULA and CAMIULA, which would greatly enhance the services provided to our students and their families.
**Editor:** Why do you believe it’s crucial for the university to manage these health resources directly?
**Yanara Vivas:** Direct management of health resources by the University of Los Andes will allow for immediate and tailored responses to the health needs of our students. It means that we can create a system that not only serves our students efficiently but also improves overall access for the entire university community in areas like Mérida, Táchira, and Trujillo, where our members are concentrated.
**Editor:** You mentioned the potential transformation of CAMIULA into a comprehensive clinic for university students. Can you elaborate on that?
**Yanara Vivas:** Absolutely. If our request is positively received, CAMIULA could evolve into a dedicated clinic for university students. This would not only streamline healthcare access but also ensure that our medical facilities are equipped to handle the unique needs of our students, professors, and employees. The goal is to establish a robust healthcare framework that upholds the health and well-being of everyone associated with the university.
**Editor:** What has been the response from the university community regarding this initiative?
**Yanara Vivas:** The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many members of the university community recognize the importance of accessible healthcare, especially during these challenging times. We have expressed our gratitude to the University Council for their support, and we are committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to realize this initiative.
**Editor:** What are the next steps for SIPRULA and the university in pursuing this initiative?
**Yanara Vivas:** Our next steps involve continuous dialogue with the University Council and the Ministry of University Education. We will follow up on our request and take actionable steps based on their response. Meanwhile, we will keep the university community informed and engaged, reinforcing our collective commitment to enhancing health services at the University of Los Andes.
**Editor:** Thank you, Yanara, for shedding light on this important initiative. We hope to see positive progress in the near future.
**Yanara Vivas:** Thank you for having me. Together, we can make strides towards better health and well-being for all members of our university community.
