Sinus cancer: little Noah victim of an excessively rare case

The parents of 10-month-old Noah have learned that their child needs treatment in the United States since the diagnosis of sinus cancer was announced.

The family will travel to Philadelphia to receive radiation treatment.

Last May, the parents went to the CHU Sainte-Justine because their child was having difficulty breathing.

The doctors then detected a mass in the sinuses, which extended to the two nostrils of the little Noah.

A week later, doctors learned that Noah has Ewing’s sarcoma.

What is surprising is that this sarcoma usually affects people between the ages of 10 and 20.

His case is exceedingly rare; he has since received chemotherapy treatments.

The parents confided in TVA Nouvelles regarding this very painful ordeal in their lives.

“It was really the worst scenario one might imagine. At the time, it really devastated us. After the shock, we have no choice but to get up and continue. He’s a little baby who will feel a lot regarding things related to his environment. We have no choice but to be strong for him every day. From there, we live day by day, ”underlines the mother, Rebecca Gillis.

“At 7 months, when we had the diagnosis, the mass was so present that even the right nostril was blocked. As soon as we started the first chemotherapy treatments, we saw a clear reduction in the mass, which is very positive,” says the father, David Martel.

Parents are hopeful that their child’s health is improving.
