The Laundromat Chicks around songwriter Tobias Hammermüller from Vienna/St. Pölten are one of the most exciting English speaking indie bands from Austria. They play 80’s English jangle pop/independent. The jangle bands of the time such as Go Betweens, Pastels and the Smiths etc. were the perfect retreat music and rainy followingnoon music. So it’s all the nicer that such a sound also comes from Austria, because the Laundromat Chicks bring the jangle pop and the feeling to life authentically.
On the singles for the new album “Lightning Trails” (Release June 16/Siluh Records), the sound of the Laundromat Chicks is further developed, some lo-fi folk is mixed into the sound recipe. This is how the two singles sound Let’s Do This and Florida Dream looser and more airy.
