When “Luiserl” and “Joe” became Mona Seefried (65) and Erwin Steinhauer (71) in the Christmas hits “Single Bells” and “O Palmenbaum” to one of the cult couples in Austrian film history. That is now 22 years ago. Since then, the two have not filmed together – until now!
Because in Thomas Stipsits’ new film “Greece” (from February 23 in cinemas) they play a married couple once more. “It was one of the reasons why I made the film, so that we can work together once more following such a long time,” Erwin Steinhauer told the KURIER at the premiere.
However, the two never lost sight of each other. “We were always in contact via Instagram or some social media channels, but now we were allowed to work together once more and that was nice. We’re still very close,” the actor said.
Privately, Mona Seefried is lucky in her husband Peter E. Funck found – and there was also a return to a special place following a long time. “I’ve just been to Fuerteventura for 10 days visiting friends. I took my husband there 30 years ago on our honeymoon and this is the first time we’ve been there since. And it was really nice.”
