Singer Nam Tae-hyun from ‘Winner’ caught driving under the influence “Summary of license cancellation”

Nam Tae-hyeon (29), a singer from the idol group ‘Winner’, was caught driving drunk by the police.

The Gangnam Police Station said on the 8th, around 3:20 am, that Nam was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act (driving while intoxicated) for driving drunk in a resident priority parking area in a residential area in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Nam is accused of opening the door of his parked car, damaging the side mirror of a taxi passing by, then getting back into the car and driving for regarding 10 meters. The taxi driver is said to have suffered no serious injuries.

The police said that the result of Nam’s alcohol test at the scene was 0.114%, the license revocation level. At the time, Mr. Nam testified to the police that he had “called a substitute driver,” but was said to be in such a state of intoxication that he might not be investigated properly. The police plan to summon Nam once more soon to investigate the details of the incident.

After being active in ‘Winner’ from 2014 to 2016, Nam is currently leading a band called ‘South Club’. In August of last year, Seo Min-jae, a cast member of ‘Heart Signal 3’, was booked at the Yongsan Police Station for claiming that he was ‘drugged and assaulted by Nam’.
