Singer Meat Loaf dies at 74

According to media reports, the musician Meat Loaf died on Thursday evening at the age of 74. Like the Swedish newspaper «Aftonbladet» writes, his manager confirmed the death of Michael Lee Aday, the real name of the US singer. He became world famous in the 1980s with hits like “I’d Do Anything for Love”. A cause of death was not given. However, his daughter and wife were by his side. She said to her husband’s death: “Never stop rocking!”

The Texas singer has sold over 100 million albums over the course of his career. “Bat Out of Hell” from 1977 belongs according to the online portal Deadline among the top 35 best-selling albums of all time in the United States. Meat Loaf won several Grammys for his work. He first appeared in show business in 1975 in the film “Rocky Horror Picture Show”. More films were to follow.
