Country singer Ingrid Andress shocked the world when she absolutely botched the American national anthem. The young star then admitted that alcohol was to blame for her horror performance. However, this did not prevent sharp criticism from the people and the press. Most of them agreed that this is one of the worst renditions of the American national anthem.
The beginning of the song gave the listeners hope that they would experience a pleasant performance, but in the end such unpleasant notes came that the singer might compete for the first place in the star infantry and dethrone the legendary Anička Dido. After the performance, Ingrid released a statement on her networks that alcohol was to blame for the terrible performance. “I won’t lie to you, I was drunk last night” she admitted.
The 32-year-old singer of the American national anthem created a completely new version, which the Americans did not exactly accept with enthusiasm. “She absolutely killed that song,” wrote one of the offended. “What was she nominated for four Grammys for? After all, she dishonored our country with that,” another instagram user has joined. According to some, it is a brilliantly thought out campaign. “No one knew her and now the whole world knows regarding her,” read the comment below the video.
The singer also stated in her statement that she is not at her best. “I’m checking into a facility today to get the help I need,” she opened up and added that she didn’t recognize herself at all. “It wasn’t me last night. I apologize to MLB, to all the fans and to this country that I love so much.” she concluded the statement.
