Singer Grimes has reportedly filed a lawsuit to clearly establish her parental rights over the three children she had with billionaire Elon Musk. An action that comes following she publicly begged the CEO of Tesla to allow her to see one of their sons.
Born Claire Boucher, Grimes would take her ex Elon Musk to court so that the parental rights that she and he would be entitled to exercise over their three children might be officially established. The singer apparently filed this last Friday in a California court “a request to establish a parental relationship,” Page Six and TMZ reported this Tuesday.
This request would aim in particular for the court to identify the legal parents of a child when they are not married, it is explained in particular. This type of request is not uncommon, commented a family lawyer interviewed by the San Francisco Standard. It is usually filed in conjunction with an application for child support and the establishment of custody rights.
The news comes some time following Grimes reportedly begged Elon Musk on Twitter to let her see her son. TMZ reports that in response to a tweet featuring the billionaire’s twins, Strider and Azure – whom he shares with Shivon Zilis – the singer wrote (in a since-deleted post): “Tell Elon to let me see my son, or please respond to my lawyer”.
TMZ understands that the singer was referring to their youngest son, Tau, born last year. If they themselves never announced the birth of this little boy, Walter Isaacson, who has just written a biography on Elon Musk, made the revelation and revealed that they had given him the name Techno Mechanicus , and the affectionate nickname Tau.
Grimes, 35, and Elon Musk, 52, had started dating in 2018 and had an on-and-off relationship until September 2021. The Canadian artist gave birth to their firstborn, a son named X Æ A -Xii, in May 2020, and the former couple went on to welcome daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, aka Y, born via surrogate in December 2021.
