Popular Latin artist Bad Bunny (30), known as Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is causing a sensation in Hollywood. The Puerto Rican musician and rapper has landed a role alongside “Elvis” actor Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz (“Batman”) in the upcoming thriller “Snatch and Run,” according to US entertainment sources. Director Darren Aronofsky (“The White Whale,” “Black Swan”) will direct the project.

Sony Pictures is backing the film, which is based on a novel by American author Charles Huston. The plot revolves around a retired baseball player (Butler) who unwittingly finds himself drawn into the criminal underworld of 1990s New York and must fight to survive. Details about Bad Bunny’s character are being kept under wraps for now.

The Grammy winner (“Summer Without You”), who made his film debut with a supporting role in the Netflix series “Narcos” set in Mexico, went on to star opposite Brad Pitt in the action comedy “Express Train” in 2022, followed by “Cassandro” with Gael García Bernal.

Aronofsky is known for films such as “Requiem for a Dream” (2000), “The Wrestler” (2008), “Black Swan” (2010), “Noah” (2014) and “Mother!” (2017). Last year, Brendan Fraser won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his lead role in Aronofsky’s drama “The Whale.”
