Kamal Shah said that 40 kg of male sava fish (also known as golden sava) is worth several crores of rupees, while the value of a female sava can be as high as 5 million rupees.

He said that the fishermen caught regarding 5,000 small and big fish at a time and many fishermen’s boats participated in it.

He further informed that the total value of fish caught on March 20 is estimated to be around one billion rupees.

This fish is called ‘Swa’ in Sindhi and ‘Kur’ in Balochi while its botanical name is Argyrosoms japonicus.

Muazzam Khan said that the size of sawa fish can be one and a half meters and the weight can be 30 to 40 kilograms and it is caught throughout the year. However, its availability becomes easier from November to March as this is its breeding season.
