The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh has directed the immediate recovery of the police personnel who were abducted by bandits in Kacha.
A law and order meeting was held under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir in which IG Sindh Rifat Mukhtar gave a briefing about the situation in 621 police stations of the province.
IG Sindh told the meeting that there are a total of 621 police stations in the province, of which 66 police stations are in good condition, 315 police stations are in normal condition and 240 police stations are in good condition.
According to IG Sindh, out of 621 police stations, 272 police stations are owned by police, 3 police stations are in rented buildings and 346 police stations are on government property. The good police stations are built in fancy style.
IG Sindh Rafat Mukhtar further said that this year a total of Rs 475.8 million has been allocated for the repair of police stations, Rs 430.8 million have been allocated for other police rangers and Rs 45.04 million have been allocated for CPOs.
According to IG Sindh, the recent floods have made the situation of many police stations critical.
During the meeting, the caretaker chief minister said that all the police stations should be improved and secured according to international standards, there should be a strong wall including watch tower, boundary, reception and first aid system at the police stations, if the police station buildings are improved. Funds will be provided.
The Chief Minister also directed to improve police mobility and get medical insurance for police personnel.
During the meeting, Additional IG Karachi, Khadim Hussain Rand, while giving a briefing, said that the report of stealing mobile phones is not as much as it should be. Got some information.
According to Khadim Hussain Rand, there have been 887 encounters against street criminals from January to October 12, 2023, 141 criminals were killed in the encounters while 1051 were injured and 5976 were caught, 44 car lifters were injured.
The caretaker chief minister instructed the police that street crime should be controlled in every case, the police should take necessary steps related to street crime.
He said that it is estimated that our police station is not ready for any emergency situation.
