Sindh government also launched free air ambulance service – Pakistan

Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani announced that the Sindh government has started a free air ambulance service under the Local Government Council Association.

Ministers said that an agreement has been signed between Sindh Local Council Association and Aircraft Company ASSL to provide this free air ambulance service in Sindh.

While announcing the air ambulance service, Saeed Ghani said that with this new project, patients from Ghotki, Sukkur and Khairpur will be able to be airlifted to Karachi for medical assistance.

Minister Syed Nasir Shah said that the agreement will be between ASSL Aviation and three local councils of Sukkur, Ghotki and Khairpur. He admitted that transporting patients from cities 6 hours away from Karachi has been a problem and this new air ambulance service is a major achievement in addressing this challenge.

Sindh Local Council Association Chairman Syed Kamil Haider Shah said that this air ambulance service will allow patients from southern Punjab and northern Sindh to be transported to Karachi.

He clarified that the three district councils of Sukkur, Ghotki and Khairpur will tie up with ASSL Aviation, which will provide 5 free flights per month to these districts.

Akbar Jafri, CEO of Airlift Sales and Services, said they are already providing air ambulance services across Pakistan, transporting patients from cities like Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Quetta.

He confirmed that patients from Sukkur, Ghotki and Kashmore can now be transferred to Karachi using this new service.
