Since this week, Luis Sardiñas enters with the Caribbeans in Guanteño territory

Since this week, infielder Luis Sardiñas has been training with Caribes de Anzoátegui at the Jesús Rizales stadium in the Guanta municipality with a view to the upcoming season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).

The former big leaguer arrived at the arena along with pitcher Gabriel Yánez. Both are getting in tune under the orders of the technical team headed by coach Mike Álvarez, reported Eduardo Medina, a member of the La Tribu Oriental press department.

For pitcher Yanez it will be his second season in the LVBP. The left-hander comes from seeing action with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, class A+ branch of the Minnesota Twins. He left a record of 4 – 4 in 38 games. He had 18 appearances as a closer and managed to save 10 games, leaving an ERA of 2.26 in 55.2 innings.

Sardiñas, one of the icons of Anzoátegui, comes from playing in the 2024 campaign of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), where he wore the uniforms of the Charros de Jalisco, Guerreros de Oaxaca and Los Tecolotes de Dos Laredos.

During his time in Aztec lands, Sardiñas played 83 duels, connecting with 89 hits, including 20 doubles and 14 home runs. In addition, he scored 51 times and scored 56 runs. He averaged .283.
