In an evening video message to Ukrainians, the head of state indicated that on Wednesday, April 26, another 44 Ukrainians were returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity.

“Most of them are military. From different directions. Among them are defenders of Azovstal and Mariupol, other cities of the Donetsk region, Kherson region, Kharkiv region… Most of them are privates and sergeants. There are also officers. Two are civilians.

It is very important that the team works for all those who are in captivity… even if it is particularly difficult, as in particular for certain categories of prisoners, which are not only prisoners of war who are difficult to return, but also for example , civilian prisoners are one of those categories that are difficult to deal with,” emphasized V. Zelenskis.

He noted that in Ukraine everyone is remembered, and even if there is no exact information regarding a specific person, what happened to him, where he might be, such a person is still being searched for and everything is checked as much as possible.

“Ukraine must return all its people. Thanks to everyone who coordinates this work… Thanks to everyone who helps. Of course, special thanks to all our soldiers at the front who are collecting additions to the exchange fund. Every Russian prisoner is an opportunity to exchange our person,” V. Zelenskis said.
