Sinar Mas Land, through Kota Deltamas, together with ITSB successfully held the 2024 Chess Tournament

IN order to celebrate the 23rd Anniversary, the Bandung Institute of Science Technology (ITSB) collaborated with Kota Deltamas to successfully hold the 2024 Chess Tournament at the ITSB Campus Hall, Kota Deltamas, Cikarang, West Java, last Saturday (5/10).

This chess tournament aims to build collaboration that is innovative, sustainable and has a positive impact in encouraging the development of the education ecosystem in Kota Deltamas.

The event was attended by ITSB Chancellor Carmadi Machbub, Kota Deltamas Sales & Marketing Director Stanley W Atmodjo, General Secretary of the ITSB Foundation MC Setriyantono, Deputy Secretary General of PB Percasi Nanang Surahman, Chairman of Percasi Bekasi Regency Harry Ubayana, and Chairman of the 2024 Chess Tournament Committee Stevanus.

A total of 100 chess players, who came from big cities in Indonesia, were very enthusiastic about competing for a total prize of more than IDR 25 million, trophies and rotating trophies.

This tournament uses the Swiss System with a Rapid 15′ + 3 format which lasts for 6 rounds.

This first-ever ITSB chess tournament not only showcased outstanding individual play, but also showcased high-level strategy and in-depth tactics.

The participants not only relied on technical skills, but also demonstrated strategic thinking abilities that were able to change the course of the match significantly.

ITSB Chancellor Carmadi Machbub said, “As a pioneer of higher education that has long existed in Kota Deltamas, we thank the chess fans from among students, students, teachers, the academic community, as well as employees of Sinar Mas and companies in Kota Deltamas who have participated in inaugural chess tournament on the ITSB campus.”

“With this tournament, we hope that the achievements of chess in Indonesia can continue to develop. We also want to congratulate the winners who have played optimally and upheld high sportsmanship values,” he continued.

Men’s Champion in Student Category

1st Place: Aksel Aria Fatheka (SMAN Cikande 1 Serang)

1st Place: Irene Rumiris Ramona Sinurat (SMAN 2 Bekasi)

2nd Place: Khansa Safia Hasna (Kary Mukti Islamic Elementary School, Bogor Regency)

3rd place: Nabila Adriana Az-Zahra (SMAN 1 Karang Bahagia)

Men’s Champion in Employee Category

1st Place: Ryan Adriansyah Ramdani (UKM Chess, Indonesian Education University)

2nd Place: Abed Nego (Teacher at SMPN 56 Bekasi)

3rd Place: Joy Hasudungan Siahaan (Teacher at SDN 1 Simpangan)

Female Champion in Employee Category

1st Place: Sasa Sandra Dewi (UKM Chess, Indonesian Education University)

2nd Champion: Hafshah Zainab Mujahidah (UKM Chess Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia)

3rd Place: Nindy Astreanty (Employee of PT Yili Indonesia Dairy)

Apart from the winners, participants who placed 4th to 18th received voucher prizes in the form of savings from Bank Nano Syariah with a total of IDR 5 million for the two competition categories.

Apart from that, lucky participants also had the opportunity to win door prizes, namely a 32″ Smart TV and Smart Watch.

All participants also received goodie bags containing cooking oil, origami, stationery and 12 boxes of D’LANIER chocolates.
