Sinar Mas Land Supports Talent Pool Development in Southeast Asia

THE good relationship between Indonesia and Singapore in the education sector is one of the promising potentials for the Indonesian workforce in the future. The strong ties between the two countries are manifested in various programs agreed upon by the two governments. One of them is the Southeast Asia Global Ready Talent program which offers opportunities for students from Singapore to participate in work and internship programs at various companies in Indonesia. Sinar Mas Land is one of the companies in Indonesia selected as a place for internship practice for students which lasts for 10 weeks, starting from June 3 to August 9, 2024.

The Southeast Asia Global Ready Talent Program is an initiative of the Enterprise Singapore Board (EnterpriseSG). The goal is to develop a talent pool that has knowledge of the Southeast Asian regional industry. This program also provides an opportunity for Sinar Mas Land to gain global employment insights from selected students from six leading campuses in Singapore, namely the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), and Singapore University of Social Science (SUSS).

Sinar Mas Land Digital Tech Ecosystem and Development CEO Irawan Harahap said that his party greatly appreciates and supports this program. “The insights that can be offered by top global campus students from Singapore will provide new and innovative perspectives for us. We also hope that they will gain useful work experience, as well as become a real manifestation of international collaboration that will enrich perspectives, and expand professional networks between ASEAN countries. Sinar Mas Land is currently transforming into an international standard company and expanding its business globally so it is very suitable as a place for international students who want to practice internships in our office.”

Senior Assistant Director of Singapore Management University, representative of Southeast Asia Global Ready Talent Program, Victor Go, said that his party sees Sinar Mas Land as one of the largest property developers in Indonesia that is credible and has a strong international business network. Sinar Mas Land also continues to develop its company to be able to answer the challenges of the times and the latest technological developments by continuing to adapt to create smart townships and investments in the world of technology. He hopes that his students can adapt well and contribute to the company, so that this cooperation can continue to be well established in the future.

Sinar Mas Land is always committed to advancing the ecosystem of the country’s education world by utilizing global networks. Until 2024, BSD City has 110 schools to a number of universities such as Atma Jaya University, Prasetiya Mulya University, Binus University, to the first university in Indonesia from abroad, namely Monash University.

In the field of research, digital economy, and technology development, Sinar Mas Land presents Digital Hub, a special commercial area for the technology industry covering 25 hectares in BSD City. Since 2016, positive enthusiasm has been obtained from various parties in the development of the ecosystem that has become home to more than 38 leading companies including Traveloka, Tokopedia, Microsoft, NTT Data, and SIRCLO.

In addition, in mid-January, Digital Hub was also chosen as the location for the Digital Experience Center (DXC), a 525 m2 innovation center developed by PT NTT Indonesia Technology through NTT Ltd, together with Microsoft Indonesia. DXC is equipped with a variety of complete digital facilities and infrastructure to encourage the birth of more digital innovations, accelerate business development, and accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy.
