Simulation shows what happened to the bodies of people aboard the Titan submarine

Since the Titan submersible disaster, many theories have arisen as to what happened to the unfortunate vessel. A horrific incident claimed the lives of all five people aboard the makeshift OceanGate during a dive to the sunken Titanic on June 18.

Submarine specialist José Luis Martín said last month that the passengers were likely aware of their fate for 71 seconds, following which a change in pressure caused the submersible to sink rapidly before instant destruction and instant death occurred.

A new video posted to Reddit shows a simulation of what might be happening to a human body aboard Titan.

It is assumed that at the depth at which the destruction of the vessel occurred, the static water pressure exceeded 3000 PSI. For comparison: the pressure inside the chamber of a diesel engine during self-ignition of air is regarding 500 PSI. Thus, the pressure on Titan was 6 times greater. The destruction of the carbon fiber shell occurred instantly, forming millions of sharp fragments.

The main feature of carbon fiber is that it does not deform like metal. Unlike metal, which begins to distort, carbon fiber “breaks”. As a result, the bodies of those who died on board were mixed into one mass and were so quickly and completely compressed that even an industrial blender might not create such an emulsion.
