The Skoda driver had to admit defeat to the victorious Hermann Neubauer from Salzburg in second place at the Weiz Rally, just 8.4 seconds behind, but successfully defended his title early. Third place went to his brother Julian Wagner, who is now second in the overall ranking ahead of the finale at the Bucklige Welt Rally in October.
