Simon Leviev, the “Tinder Scammer”, gave his first interview since the documentary about him


The one who is also known as Shimon Hayut has, for the first time, reacted to the Netflix documentary of which he is the main character.

In the movie The Tinder SwindlerNetflix subscribers can learn regarding the fraudulent methods used by Simon Leviev to steal millions of dollars from women who fell in love with him.

Posing as the son of an Israeli billionaire on the dating app Tinder, Leviev gave unsuspecting suitors a dream life.

Once their relationship was well established, Leviev then made his victims believe that he was being threatened by “enemies” and that he urgently needed to borrow money, which he promised, of course, to repay soon.

This is how he managed to extort astronomical sums from women all over Europe.

Obviously never having authorized the production of this documentary regarding him, Leviev/Hayut had declared shortly following its launch that he would “share his version of the facts in a few days”, further asking viewers of the film to “keep their minds and hearts open.

In an interview with Inside Editionthe “Tinder scammer” denied all the allegations regarding him outright, calling the film “pure fabrication”.

“I was just a single guy who wanted to meet girls on Tinder. I am not a “Tinder scammer”, defended Leviev.

“They present the film as a documentary, but in reality it is pure fabrication. I am the tallest gentleman in the world and they call me the “Tinder Scammer”. I am not a fraudster and I am not an impostor, ”says the one who would have extracted more than 10 million dollars in total from his victims.

Accused and then found guilty of fraud in Finland in the mid-2010s, he had served a prison sentence before starting his game once more.

Arrested once more in Greece in December 2019 and accused of fraud, theft and forging false documents, he was found guilty and sentenced to 15 months in prison.

His good behavior and the COVID-19 pandemic ultimately only made him spend five months behind bars.

He returned to Tinder following his incarceration, but the app eventually banned him following the broadcast of the documentary regarding him.
