After weeks of intense negotiations, a breakthrough has been achieved in forming a new government. Simeon Dyankov, former Finance Minister under Boyko Borisov’s administration, shared his insights during a recent interview with Nova TV. “I can say with a huge amount of certainty that we will have a regular cabinet,” Dyankov stated confidently,adding that the final details are expected to be ironed out within the next week.
While an agreement in principle has been reached between key political factions—GERB-SDS, ITN, and BSP, with ASP’s parliamentary backing—internal discussions within their executive committees are still ongoing. Dyankov emphasized, “This will take at least another 1-2 days.” Efforts are also being made to engage with DB, aiming to secure their support in the National Assembly for critical policies, even if they do not formally join the coalition.
In a separate growth, the United States has imposed sanctions on several companies and individuals, including Yusuf Alekperov, the majority owner of Lukoil, and Vadim Vorobyov, the CEO overseeing international operations.
