Silver fir trees in the stars

For its first spring outing, the Generations movement club of Salles-Curan has chosen the Cité de l’Espace. A few days ago, early in the morning, regarding thirty members left for Toulouse under the leadership of Christian, via the N 88 inaugurated the day before! Along the way, snack coffee, tea, pastries, prepared and served by the dynamic leaders Eliette and Lysiane.

As soon as they arrived in the 4-hectare science theme park, their guides took them to Infinity Alley, lined with a solar system orientation table. Among all the models of spacecraft on display, they stopped in front of the mythical ship of the Apollo 11 mission and made them relive the adventure of the first men on the Moon, July 21, 1969. Then, ImaxTM cinema screening in relief with impressive images of meteorites that threaten our planet and advanced technologies to protect us from these cosmic risks.

Mid-day break with a good meal at L’Astronaute restaurant. Early followingnoon in the park with the playful simulation of the Persévérance (United States) and Zhurong (China) robot rovers on the planet Mars, in search of traces of past life. Continuation with the boarding of a copy of the Mir space station. And finally, access to the planetarium with its 360° screen for an interactive journey through the solar system and far beyond.

After thanking their leaders for the clarity of their explanations and their kindness, it was with their heads in the stars that the group headed back home at the end of this instructive and entertaining day.
