Silent Hill 2: the developers ask for a little patience from players

The “remake” of the game Silent Hill 2 is still in development, and Bloober Team is asking for a little more patience from players.

The studio shared an update on social media to reassure players that the development of Silent Hill 2 was going well, but it will take a little time before revealing more.

“As Bloober Team, we are proud to be part of Konami’s plans for the franchise Silent Hill. Alongside our partner, we are working diligently to ensure that the remake of Silent Hill 2 reaches the highest quality,” we can read in a press release broadcast on X.

«[…] We would like to point out that production is proceeding smoothly and according to our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly awaiting news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication. We ask, however, for a little more patience. Once Konami, the game’s publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worth it,” said the studio.

At the time of writing these lines, Silent Hill 2 still doesn’t have a launch date or even a clear release forecast.

What is the Silent Hill 2 project?

Announced in October 2022, Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the classic game from 2001. The original is a classic in the “survival horror” style and is considered one of the best games of all time.

The studio responsible for developing the remake is Bloober Team, which also developed the games Layers of Fear, The Medium et Blair Witch.

Masahiro Ito, creature designer for the original game, and Akira Yamaoka, composer for the original game, return to their roles for the remake, much to the delight of fans.

A “teaser” was revealed alongside the project in October 2022. The images don’t show any game mechanics, but offer a good look at the remake’s slick upgrade and cutscenes. The extract even ends with an iconic character from the game!
