After many rumours, it is now officially certain that a remake of the horror classic Silent Hill 2 is on the way. But what regarding the game and the current state of development? The men from Bloober Team have now commented on this.
So fans of the franchise and those who want to become one have reason to be happy! The good news is that the Silent Hill 2 remake is almost complete. Piotr Babieno, CEO of developer Bloober Team, underlined this in a new interview. So they are currently waiting for Konami and their partners to determine the final release date; one of these should therefore be expected relatively soon.
The mentioned interview was PAP Business guided. There, Babieno said that the Silent Hill 2 Remake was “technically ready”. So while the processes are well advanced and we’re just waiting for the release date to be set, Babieno also adds “that doesn’t mean that the development of the game is completely finished”. In this respect, the gold status has not yet been fully achieved.
The bottom line is that the development team still has enough time to fine-tune and eliminate any errors. The entire marketing processes are in the hands of the publisher’s partners and would also have to be determined. The final decision regarding publication rests with Konami.
The remake of Silent Hill 2 was officially announced in October 2022, and a release date has not yet been announced. The new edition is intended to remain essentially faithful to the original game from 2001, but will receive all sorts of innovations such as an improved combat design and optimized opponent AI.
