Two chargers and a silencer were found in the La Vie river, near Lake Apremont (Vendée), not far from the home of Karine Esquivillon, whose body was found on June 16 after the confession of her husband, learned from franceinfo and France Blue Loire Ocean from sources familiar with the matter. The silencer and the chargers were found at a location indicated by her husband Michel Pialle.

The body of Karine Esquivillon, a 54-year-old mother who had been missing in Vendée for two and a half months, had been found on the instructions of her husband, who confessed at the end of police custody. The husband had told investigators that he had killed his wife accidentally while handling a weapon and had been indicted for “murder by spouse” and remanded in custody.

A white march on July 1

Karine Esquivillon’s body was found in a wood, a few kilometers from the couple’s home. Sport shooter with several firearms, Michel Pialle told the police “having killed his wife on March 27, 2023 with a 22 Long Rifle rifle equipped with a silencer” at once “left accidentally“, according to the parquet floor of La Roche-sur-Yon.

Karine Esquivillon, mother of five children, disappeared on March 27, leaving no other known trace than a mobile phone discovered two weeks later in a ditch by the mayor of the town. A call for witnesses had been launched on May 9 to try to find her. At the end of May, her husband said he was convinced that his wife had left “voluntarily“their home in Maché (Vendée), which some children and the sister of the fifty-year-old doubted.
