Sihame Haddioui: “What keeps me going is the conviction that other women will come out”

Sihame Haddioui “no longer had a choice”, following having issued an internal report to the mayor and the First Alderman, the ecologist confirmed this Thursday his complaint for violation of sexual integrity for comments and gestures that occurred in particular during a municipal council, on the part of his colleague, alderman of Education and French-speaking Crèches as well as of the Budget, Michel De Herde (Défi). On his Facebook page and in the media, the elected amaranth takes issue with the statements of his ecologist colleague.

“It’s really a repetition and an accumulation of little things. Grave jokes, inappropriate sexual remarks. For me, the point where I reached the limit was at a town council where there are whispers in my ear of a sexual nature where he tells me ‘I like your small breasts’. And then followed a touching in stride.

On returning home that October evening, the alderwoman cries all evening and all night. Once the blow has been confirmed, she testifies to her situation to her acting mayor Cécile Jodogne (Défi) in December. In the midst of budget negotiations, Sihame Haddioui refuses to publicize the case in order “not to compromise my work of defending a budget in a difficult context”. Last February, she filed a complaint with the mayor who had already changed the places of the seats for the municipal councils since the description.
